Systems Administrator


A Systems Administrator administers, supports, monitors, and evaluates Microsoft Windows based computer system hardware and software for both internal and external customers. Ensure computer systems and software are readily available for use, providing customer support and service. Excellent knowledge of various kinds of system configurations and software compatibility is required. This position would influence technical direction for DCI and DCI clients. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Support and maintenance of a large Windows Server environment with primary responsibility of file movement utilizing various applications (IBM MQ, FTP/SFTP/FTPS client and server, etc.)
  • IBM MQ administration for Real Time Payment (RTP) application
  • Facilitate the security of file movement to internal and external entities
  • Facilitate the security of customized web applications utilizing best practices for encryption
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure applications are delivered to end users in the most secure fashion
  • Perform direct follow up with internal and external clients
  • Interface with other elements of the client support structure including tracking client issues, updating client tickets and ensuring closure
  • Ongoing documentation of policies, procedures and standards around the application builds and continuing operation of systems
  • Provide monitoring, coaching and knowledgeable transfer to less experienced employees

Education Requirements:

  • Five years working in a server administration role
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Computer Science/Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience.
  • IT related certification; prefer Microsoft certification MCSE/MCITP


  • Experience managing servers in large corporate environments, including security, security policy compliance, and exception processes
  • Advanced working knowledge in internet architecture components: IIS, MSSQL, ASP.Net, IBM MQ, client and server “FTP” protocols
  • Experience in deploying and managing Microsoft Windows server environment: 2012R2 and newer in an Active Directory environment
  • Ability to architect high availability systems (clustering technology)
  • Experience writing and manipulating PowerShell
  • Experience in VMware virtualization technology
  • Experience in deployment and management of a complex Active Directory (AD) environment
  • Confident understanding of enterprise datacenter technologies including Networking, Security, TCP/IP, SAN and NAS, physical datacenter practices
  • Understanding of supporting technologies: DHCP/DNS, Anti-Virus, Systems Management
  • Solid general understanding of distributed computing concepts, including the principles of network routing and client/server technologies.
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes and procedures
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
