DCI Hits a Home Run with Annual Bankers Conference

HUTCHINSON, KAN., October 2, 2017 – DCI, developer of the award-winning iCore360® core banking software and related technologies for community banks, achieved record-breaking attendance as they hosted over 300 bank clients, prospects, guests, staff, and exhibitors at the DCI 2017 Annual Bankers Conference, held recently in Overland Park, KS.

Golfing fans headed for the greens at the beautiful Falcon Ridge Golf Course Sunday morning, competing for top scores in the 14th annual AJ Krail golf tournament. Competition was fierce as teams of bankers, DCI staff, and vendors vied for best score honors. Meanwhile, a more theatrical group got “all shook up” at the New Theatre Restaurant and a performance of “Million Dollar Quartet,” honoring Elvis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. Lively tunes and a tasty meal made for a perfect afternoon for the busload of theatre enthusiasts.

Sunday evening everyone came together for the opening reception and exhibitor showcase, where attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, mingled with the vendors, networked, and played games for a chance to win fabulous giveaways. Following the reception the fun continued as two buses full of spirited bankers headed to Hollywood Casino to cash in on Lady Luck.

The conference program officially started Monday morning with an inspiring message from keynote speaker Jennifer Blackmon of the Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center. Blackmon illustrated how a service-excellence culture transforms engaged employees to create legendary service and sustainable success. She stressed that employees who feel respected, invested and empowered provide their best level of customer service.

After the keynote, attendees were shown the latest DCI innovations and industry insights from experts like Jamie Champlin from the Federal Reserve, A.J. Steiger with the FDIC, Chuck Clanahan from Homeland Security, Randy Johnston with NMGI, Honey Shelton from InterAction Training, industry consultants Terrie Cloud and Trent Fleming, plus sponsor demonstrations from Alexander Open Systems, Journey Technology, and Quatrro Processing Services. Other attendees took advantage of free hands-on training and instructor-led classes for iCore360 and other DCI applications, taught by DCI education specialists.

At lunch on Monday DCI awarded their fourth annual Nation Meyer Innovative Banker award to Laurie Leighty from American Riviera Bank in Santa Barbara, CA, for her innovative thinking and tireless work to improve the world around her as a banker, DCI client, and community leader. Read more about Laurie and the award here.

Monday evening the entire group of bankers and staff traveled to Kauffman Stadium to watch the Kansas City Royals take on the Chicago White Sox from the Hall of Fame suites, where they enjoyed plenty of Kansas City Bar-B-Q, peanuts, popcorn, souvenirs and a chance to win $50 cash each inning of the ballgame.

Tuesday concluded the conference with a morning of additional education and expert sessions, and a closing lunch address from DCI President and CEO John Jones, and the popular final prize give-away, including free DCI services, top-tier electronics, and the grand prize trip for two – worth $1,500.

John Jones, President and CEO of DCI said, “Our conference is a unique opportunity to build relationships with customers and enhance their experience with DCI in an informative, enjoyable get-together. By spending this quality time together, everyone comes away with fresh perspectives to improve the quality of their work and personal lives.”

If you missed the chance to participate this year, next year’s conference is scheduled Sept. 16-18 in Overland Park at the Sheraton/Overland Park Convention Center. Be sure to add the conference to your 2018 calendar. We’d love to see you there!
