California Banker Laurie Leighty Recipient of the 2017 Nation Meyer Innovative Banker Award by DCI

– EVP/CAO Honored at DCI Annual Banking Conference –

HUTCHINSON, KAN., October 3, 2017 – DCI, developer of the award-winning iCore360® core banking software and related technologies for community banks, has named Laurie Leighty, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at American Riviera Bank, Santa Barbara, CA, as the recipient of the fourth annual Nation Meyer Innovative Banker Award.

Leighty was presented the honor at a public ceremony at the DCI 2017 Annual Bankers Conference in Kansas City this September.

The annual award recognizes a DCI banker for their contribution toward the betterment of banking for their community, the DCI family of banks and the industry as a whole, in honor of the company’s founder, Nation Meyer, and his legacy of innovative vision in banking technology and community collaboration that founded DCI in 1963

Leighty’s banking career spans 37 years, with an impressive track record of helping banks succeed. In 2005, she helped launch American Riviera Bank, where she was instrumental in transforming a three-person denovo into the technologically-advanced, multi-branch, $450 million-dolllar institution it is today. As EVP/CAO Leighty has been involved in every aspect of American Riviera Bank from operations to human resources to marketing and publicity. She is a long-time contributor to the DCI iCore360° User Group and HR exchange group, an iCore360° pilot test bank leader, and a publicly enthusiastic advocate of DCI.

Beyond her banking endeavors, Leighty is a tireless influence in community agencies, schools and non-profits, including the Santa Barbara Athletic Roundtable, The Center for Successful Aging, and Women’s Executive Network.

Leighty truly embodies the spirit of this award as further exemplified by the nominations submitted by seven of her coworkers – the most nominations anyone has received for this award to date.

“Customers love her and know she will always find a way to get the job done,” said Annette Jorgensen. Nancy Estby added, “Laurie is a great mind, an innovator and she makes our bank better.” “She is an innovator, leader, mentor and cheerleader,” said Kylleen Wisham. “She is a non-stop work force,” added Crystal Quintero. “I can’t say enough about her determination to always do what’s best for customers and her employees.”

Sarah Fankhauser, DCI executive vice president and COO said, “Laurie epitomizes the spirit of this award. She has not only been instrumental in her bank’s growth, but she has also been a positive, active influencer at DCI. And beyond her banking accomplishments, she is a positive influence in community agencies, local schools and non-profits. She notably improves the world around her, as a banker, a DCI client, and community leader.”
