Bank
of The
Challenge Vancouver,
Wash.-based Bank of Clark County has more than $278 million in assets at a
single location after just six years in business. The bank was quickly
outgrowing its DOS-based bank management system. In 2003, Bank of
Clark County began looking for a Windows®-based core processing provider.
With a board and management composed of experienced bankers, the research
team, which included Kim Capeloto, EVP and COO of Bank of Clark County, knew
exactly what it wanted from a technology partner. “Due
to our experience, not always positive, with core processing technology in
the past, we knew exactly what we wanted in software, its flexibility,
growth potential and technical support,” said Capeloto.
“Once we decided to update our bank management system, we began
looking extensively at 15 core processors not only at their headquarters,
but also at customer banks to see the system in action.
After a year of due diligence, the decision was easy.” The
Solution Bank
of Clark County chose iCore as much for the technology as they did for DCI
– the company – and its technical support dedication and expertise.
iCore provides the bank with a complete and intuitive core processing system
with workflow-adaptive management tools. Because iCore is adaptable
and scalable, the bank is assured that iCore will grow and expand with the
needs of Bank of Clark County and its customers. The DCI staff that
supports iCore is considered by bank officials to be the most dedicated and
loyal in the core processing industry, enabling alterations to the bank
management system to work seamlessly. “The
flexibility of iCore and DCI’s ability to expand the system were the main
reasons we chose to implement the core processing technology,” said
Capeloto.
“We are confident that Bank of The
Result Bank
of Clark County took a unique approach during implementation. Prior to
the core processing conversion, all bank employees were assembled to review
every account, every aspect of the system. The conversion then
occurred overnight. The following day, Bank of Clark County employees
again reviewed the entire system. This comprehensive process resulted
in an uncommonly smooth conversion, according to bank officials. “The
DCI staff, throughout product demonstrations, implementation and continued
service, has been honest, sharp, receptive and responsive,” said Capeloto.
“Our conversion was the single most collaborative effort the bank has
undertaken with a technology provider or any partner.” Since
moving to the Windows-based iCore software, Bank of Clark County has worked
more effectively and efficiently, enabling its employees to better ways to
serve customers. Instead of being bogged down by cumbersome and
inflexible systems, bank employees now have input into how the system can be
adapted to best work for their needs. “The
ultimate return on investment (ROI) is continued flexibility that allows
