Marion National Bank Makes Competitive Changes with Switch to iCore
- Core processing system provides opportunities for growth -

HUTCHINSON , KAN., May 18, 2006 – DCI, a provider of full-service bank technology and processing solutions to the financial industry, announced that Marion, Kan.-based Marion National Bank (MNB) has successfully converted from DCI’s mainframe core processing system to the company’s integrated, Windows®-based bank management product, iCore.

MNB, with $20 million in assets, has been a DCI customer since 1980. According to bank officials, MNB switched to iCore in February 2006, in response to increasingly rapid changes in banking technology and regulatory requirements as well as the need to be competitive with larger financial institutions. MNB added capabilities for Check 21, remote capture and image exchange, to keep the bank compliant and competitive, while providing customers with a more flexible, modern and competitive products and services.

“With technology moving so rapidly around us, iCore’s new technology will keep us up to speed with industry and legislative changes,” said Paige Schneider, cashier and conversion coordinator for Marion National Bank. “DCI has always provided Marion National Bank with the very best in products, backroom service and customer support. iCore helps us from a day-to-day, operational standpoint as well as bank customer-focused products and services – products and services we were not capable of offering before.”

Unlike a mainframe-based system, iCore operates in a native Windows® environment with a relational database that permits instant access, management and analysis of all customer and bank information. It also enables more rapid development of new bank products or system capabilities that can keep up with competition and customer demand. iCore is designed with the participation of DCI customers to help achieve operational and business efficiencies that are more relevant and customized to each bank. Many of the features of the iCore system began as requests or ideas from customer user groups.

“DCI prides itself on the quality of products and services we provide, as much as our customer relationships,” said John Jones , CEO of DCI. “Our customers are very involved and loyal, with several serving as board members or company shareholders.  This close relationship makes DCI uniquely responsible for our customers’ success, helping to keep them up-to-date with technological and legislative advances. As with Marion National Bank, it also helps ensure that iCore provides flexibility that lends itself to any bank’s working structure with the necessary tools to offer competitive, customer-focused products and services.”
