HUTCHINSON, KS, NOV. 15, 2005 – DCI, a provider of full-service bank technology and processing solutions to the financial industry, announced at the 28th Annual BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo the successful implementation of DCI TellerProof at Salina, Kan.-based First Bank Kansas.  DCI TellerProof is DCI’s Check21 compliant item processing and imaging solution developed and installed at the bank through a strategic alliance with Alpharetta, Ga.-based Benchmark Technology Group.

According to bank officials, First Bank Kansas chose DCI TellerProof, because it was a branch capture and proofing solution.  Not only does DCI TellerProof capture check images at the teller line, eliminating the handling of all paper checks, but it also serves as a front counter proof solution, reducing back office operations and eliminating expensive courier charges.

“With DCI TellerProof, we are greatly reducing our internal paper and courier costs, while also clearing customer checks faster, reducing manual errors and using our staff more effectively at every branch,” said Lloyd Davidson, president of First Bank Kansas.  “Our return on investment will be quick – we expect the cost of the software to payback in one year.”

Check capture and verification at the teller not only speeds the collection process, but also enables First Bank Kansas to identify potential bad checks as a result of identity theft or check fraud.  DCI TellerProof utilizes check clearing through image exchange networks such as Endpoint Exchange and the Federal Reserve for improved availability of foreign item deposits.

“With identity theft and check fraud at all-time highs in our industry, financial institutions must demand from their technology providers Check21 software that captures and proofs checks and tickets at the teller,” said Jack Malinowski, CTO of Benchmark Technology Group.  “DCI TellerProof has met and will exceed the expectations of First Bank of Kansas as well as other financial institutions seeking an efficient and effective Check21 solution.”

In addition to reductions in processing time and elimination of manual errors, DCI TellerProof simplifies the teller transaction, enabling tellers to handle more customers throughout the day.

“Through our long-standing relationship with First Bank Kansas and partnership with Benchmark Technology Group, DCI has created and implemented at the bank a unique Check21 solution, DCI TellerProof,” said John Jones, president and CEO of DCI.  “We designed DCI TellerProof to be consistent with our iCore® banking system vision – it is fully integrated, flexible and intuitive. Unlike most check capture products, DCI TellerProof also proofs the image, which results in tangible benefits from the front office to the back office – including a noticeable return on investment.”
