DCI Library Reinvents Reporting - and More

Whatever most bankers considered as system report management and storage yesterday has been redefined by DCI today. With the release of the innovative new Report Library, DCI unveils a complete reinvention of system report management, viewing, and archival for both mainframe and iCore users. Designed to replace outdated typical archival COLD systems and microfiche, the new Report Library is more than just an archival utility; it is next-generation report management unlike anything you’ve seen before.

The Report Library is part of a new, more integrated approach to information management by DCI. This approach—using a main Library entrance into smaller, more focused libraries of specific content—is designed to simplify the access, management, and storage of key information sources like reports, documents, and images. The Report Library is the first of these more focused libraries. Other focused libraries are added in new releases for content applications like document imaging, and others.

“The [Library]
has been a tremendous
time saver for our bank…”

“With just a couple clicks…any report you could ever need is easily accessed. The search features…quickly isolate problems or find specific items. [Moving from] a fiche system, [we’ve] been able to improve efficiencies in many areas of the bank. [Using the Library] saves paper, time and storage space. [We] conduct extensive research in minutes as opposed to hours. The quality of the report copies…is far superior…”
—Angie Eilrich, Senior Vice President
First Bank Kansas, Salina

A Whole New Breed
DCI’s Library concept has been built from the ground up using the latest in Windows programming and networking technologies for high performance and intuitive ease of use. As a result, the Report Library’s full set of features makes simple archival and microfiche systems extinct.

The new Report Library is remarkably point-and-click user friendly. For mainframe users, installation is a breeze. And with a couple of clicks, users access the Report Library through a main DCI Library icon on the Windows desktop. For iCore users, the Report Library is fully integrated into the system under a main Library entrance on the iCore system menu. That means you never have to leave the iCore screen to access and manage your system reports.

Any banker currently using microfiche or ReportTrac will immediately see the advantages of moving to the Report Library. Not only is the Library extraordinarily faster and easier to use, but it is also less expensive, and is simultaneously accessible and manageable by any authorized network user at the bank—not just a single fiche reader or workstation. And in the unlikely event of system downtime, the Report Library backup CDs can be used with full functionality in any Windows-compatible computer with a CD drive—no network connection required. The Report Library also delivers powerfully automated and intuitive capabilities for indexing, viewing, searching, printing, backup and security.

For example, one of the best features of the Report Library is its automation and customization capabilities. Using a basic set of parameters—which can be customized for each bank—the Report Library automatically defines and indexes all reports, with no user involvement required. It continuously monitors the system to automatically add new reports as they are generated, assigns definitions to each one, indexes them by processing date, application and definition, and automatically displays the most recent set of reports whenever the Report Library is opened. All without you having to do anything.

Easy to Use
Using the Report Library could not be easier or more flexible. Simply double-click any report listed on the screen to open the viewer and look at the report detail. It is that simple. And because every report is created in a Rich Text Format, using your report data in any other document is as simple as copy and paste. Accessing and searching reports is just as impressive. For example, the main Report Library screen gives you multiple options for accessing and searching reports, using any combination of criteria such as report name, type, description, date range, branch*, application*, and dollar amount. You can search reports one at a time or all reports simultaneously. And the Report Library then automatically displays all the report matches for the search criteria in date order. You can even add any free form word or number to your search, and view each instance of the search term in the report detail.
The Report Library also allows you to automatically print specific reports before you arrive each day, and to specify which printer(s) on your network (including branches) to use. Security settings are also flexible. Administrators can authorize or deny user access by user, report type or even application*.

Backup on the Report Library is a snap. Simply choose a couple of settings, launch the permanent storage application, and burn your reports to CD. Once your reports are stored to CD, your backup CDs are fully operational—including the Report Library offline viewer—in any computer CD drive, with no network or Report Library connection required.
Nimble and intuitive, the Report Library gives you so many easy ways to find and use your report data, once you try it, you’ll seriously wonder how you ever got along without it. But that’s not the only reason you should consider moving to the new Report Library.

Reasons to Switch
Microfiche technology has simply become too outdated, cumbersome and costly to maintain. And early estimates indicate that the fees for third party fiche services will be more than double the current rates, with turnaround time expected to be at least two weeks.
For customers currently using a typical archival COLD system, the benefits of moving to the new Report Library are just as obvious.

This is a deal you can’t afford to pass up. The Report Library is next generation technology available only from DCI. It’s less expensive, easier to use, more capable and more reliable than any other solution.

Don’t wait to take your system report management to the next level. Implementation dates are limited and reserved on a first-come basis. For more information, a demonstration, or to reserve your implementation date, call DCI at (620) 694-6800 today.
