DCI Certified to Provide FedForward, FedReceipt Services

HUTCHINSON, KAN., DEC. 6, 2005 – DCI, a provider of full-service bank technology and processing solutions to the financial industry, announced today the availability of the Federal Reserve’s FedForward and FedReceipt services through the core processor’s solutions.  These services help financial institutions reap the full benefits of Check21.

FedForward equips financial institutions to transform operations to clear checks faster, reduce transportation costs, streamline backroom operations and extend deadlines by sending check images through the Fed in lieu of paper checks.  With FedForward, DCI supports the electronic check clearing process enabled by Check 21 with more favorable image cash letter deposit deadlines and options for accelerating availability of paper deposits.

“With FedForward services, DCI creates more value and improved business practices for our customers, helping them fully realize the benefits of electronic check processing,” said Jerry Rempe, senior vice president Operations for DCI.  “With accelerated funds availability and a more efficient backroom, FedForward helps DCI reduce processing costs and turnaround time for our customers, and also helps them improve customer service by extending branch deposit cut-off times.”

DCI also is certified to provide FedReceipt services to their customers, which re-structures check operations and enables “straight-through” electronic check processing for a portion of a bank’s inclearings (those deposited in image cash letters by the Reserve Banks or converted to images by the Reserve Banks).  In addition to FedReceipt, DCI is also certified to offer FedReceipt Plus where all items drawn from a bank, including items deposited in imaged cash letters and paper items image-captured by the Reserve Banks.

“Certification for FedForward, FedReceipt and FedReceipt Plus enables DCI to be more prepared for the growing use of check imaging and electronic presentment,” said John Jones, president and CEO of DCI.  “These services give our customers more flexibility, and help them maximize the benefits of our efficient electronic processing, including reduced costs and better use of their resources.”
