Named ICBA California Banker of the Year
Mr. Timmons has been the president and chief executive officer for the past eleven of the 51 years that Spectrum Bank has served Southern California. The California Independent Bankers, the Western arm of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), the largest independent banking trade organization, announced the 2005 Banker of the Year award.
In making the presentation, Mr. Craig L. Hudson, Western Regional Director for the ICBA, stated: “Tom Timmons has been a true champion of community banking. His dedication and integrity have been unwavering for more than 30 years as a community banking leader. He has resiliently improved our industry with significant personal contributions to membership, education and advocacy. With great vision, Tom Timmons challenged regulators and bankers to communicate on higher levels by establishing the renowned and growing Meet the Regional Regulators Forum. Tom’s tireless work ethic, leadership and positive moral character are reflected in the ongoing success of Spectrum Bank. His unyielding devotion to God and the American spirit serves as a beacon to his peers, family and community. We thank Tom for continuing to uphold the values of America and community banking and for contributing so generously and effectively to the independent banking industry.”
